Jerry Nicholson began his career in 1978 as Deputy District Attorney for Orange County. In that
capacity, he prosecuted both misdemeanor and felony cases. In addition, he was assigned to the
Narcotic Task Force with the County. His duties there included the investigation and prosecution
of major narcotic cases. As a Deputy District Attorney, he gained a great deal of jury trial and
court room experience that he used as a foundation for the rest of his career.
After leaving the District Attorney’s Office, he became a partner in the state-wide law firm of
Hunter, Nicholson, & Mason, where his duties included supervising all criminal and litigation
matters for the firm.
For the last 21 years, Mr. Nicholson has had his own private practice, focusing exclusively on
criminal defense. He built his practice base upon his experience as a Prosecutor, a Partner in
a state-wide law firm, and the relationships he developed with the judiciary, prosecutors, and
the law enforcement community. His criminal defense practice has expanded to encompass all forms
of criminal defense. His long standing relationships and reputation allow him to communicate
effectively on his client’s behalf with all sectors of the criminal justice system such as Judges,
Prosecutors, Probation Officers, Law Enforcement Officers, Child Services Officers, State Agency
Officials, Court Clerks, private investigators and Bail Bondsmen.
